Street

Street is the local town, about 5 minutes' walk down the road from school. With various restrictions, of course, you can go down at lunchtimes and after school. The current rules for when you can be in Street are as follows:

Day Lunchtime After School
Monday Yes Only 6th form
Tuesday Yes Only 6th form
Wednesday Yes - back on campus by 2pm Only 6th form after 3.30pm
Thursday Yes Only 6th form
Friday Yes Prefects Only
Saturday Yes - back on campus by 2pm Only 6th form after 3.30pm
Sunday Not in the morning 2-5pm 6th form only with Houseparent's permission

School Prefects are allowed into Street after school on any day and at any time, subject to School commitments. Senior Prefects are allowed into Street at any time, no other pupils should be in Street during lesson time. No student is allowed in Street on Mufti days.

If you're not in the sixth-form and you want to go to Street then you have to get a 'Street Chit' from your houseparents, which is basically a piece of paper saying that you have their permission to go. You have to get this the night before so you might have to do a bit of forward planning. (Although day pupils can get one on the day).

Street has most of the well known stores and also the Clarks Shopping Subway eat freshVillage so there can't be much that you'll need that you won't be able to get, either from the school shop or in Street.

Most students have their favourite place in Street. Subway and the stalls in Clarks Village are very popular at lunchtime.

Street is out of bounds on Sundays except to prefects, which can be a bit annoying if you are in need of something. You'll probably just have to wait until the school shop opens at 8.30 on Monday morning, or, if you're lucky Bovemore Stores (more commonly known as 'Slys'), which is a corner shop just a few hundred metres down the road, may stock what you're in need of.
